God is our ultimate source for EVERYTHING whether we realize that or not.
We are His creation.
He is our Creator.
He created the heavens.
He created our earth.
He created us.
How incomprehensible is that for our finite minds!
This is who God is.
He is SO FAR above us in all ways… yet He Loves us more than we can imagine!
“God is Love” (1 John 4:8)
He already knows us.
He wants us to KNOW HIM.
It is impossible to KNOW HIM if we don’t know what He says in His recorded Word to us, The Bible.
Remember, He “IS” the Word.
“In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
“NOW BY THIS WE KNOW THAT WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. HE WHO SAYS, ‘I KNOW HIM,’ AND DOES NOT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. BUT WHOEVER KEEPS HIS WORD, TRULY THE LOVE OF GOD IS PERFECTED IN HIM. BY THIS WE KNOW THAT WE ARE IN HIM. HE WHO SAYS HE ABIDES IN HIM OUGHT HIMSELF ALSO TO WALK JUST AS HE WALKED.”

Knowing Jesus is knowing and DOING His Word.
“Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14)
These verses are not about “earning” God’s favor or God’s love!
They are about being obedient to what He says.
“If anyone loves Me, he will keep (obey) My Word.” (John 14:23)
There are some very sobering scriptures on the topic of KNOWING HIM.
Regarding our very ETERNITY…
“Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you;’ depart from Me you who practice wickedness.”
(Matthew 7:21-23)
“This is the will of Him (God the Father) who sent Me (Jesus), that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40)
“The other virgins (“believers”) came also, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us! But He answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man (Jesus) is coming.” (Matthew 25:11-13)
It is SO VERY IMPORTANT that we know what God teaches us in His Word and then DO what He says!
“Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22)
