I know that we all have our own life experiences that have contributed to shaping our current beliefs.
Regardless of our current beliefs, I think that all of us can agree on one thing.
That one thing is that our world is rapidly changing!

Addressing our greatest problem…
Of all of the problems in our world, what do you think is our GREATEST problem?
Poverty? Starvation? Violence? Disease? The economy? Natural disasters? Cancer? Terrorists? The threat of nuclear war? Politics? Politicians? A virus?
Hmmm… these are all problems, but not our GREATEST problem.
Let me pause here and see what you think…
What if your doctor ran tests on you and discovered that you have the common cold and that you also have cancer.
What if your doctor didn’t want to devastate you with the news of your worst diagnosis, so he just told you that you have the common cold?
What would you think of your doctor???
As a nurse, I know what I would think of that doctor!
I would think:
That doctor doesn’t really care about you; If he did, he would tell you the full truth.
That doctor has no integrity; He knows the full truth and is intentionally not telling you.
That doctor cannot be trusted.
The worst thing is that there is no chance for living if the doctor doesn’t tell you that you have cancer, which is deadly without intervention!
This is the very reason that I am telling you what our GREATEST problem is.
It isn’t poverty, or starvation, or violence, or disease, or the economy, or natural disasters, or cancer, or terrorism, or the threat of nuclear war, or politics, or politicians or a virus.
Our GREATEST problem is our … <<SIN>>… which is deadly without intervention!
Most of us have heard the word <sin>, but do we know what it means??

Our sin separates us from our Holy God. 🙁
“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)
The Greek word for sin is hamartia.
Hamartia means offense.
We have all offended our Creator.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8)
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.”
(Isaiah 59:1,2)
Our beliefs don’t change what God says, HOWEVER, what God says will change our beliefs if we chose to listen to Him.

“Get understanding; do not forget My words or turn away from them.” (Proverbs 4:5)
He is God. He created us. He knows us.
He wants us to KNOW HIM 🙂
I remember when I felt that there MUST BE more to life than what I was living.
I remember feeling empty and alone even though I had many “things” as well as friends and family around me.
I remember when I did not believe in Jesus.
I remember when I did not know that I was a sinner who needed a Savior.
I remember when I did not know that Jesus is my Savior.
I remember when I did not know that Jesus is MY Savior because He died for MY sins.
I remember when I lived my life for myself.
I remember when I did not talk to God.
I remember when I didn’t read God’s Words to me (The Bible.)
I remember when I didn’t trust Jesus with my life (make Him my Lord.)
Lack of knowledge or experience with something most definitely does not mean that that something is not real and true!
If sin is our greatest problem, then what is our GREATEST NEED?
This website is called “Know Him” because that is LITERALLY every human beings GREATEST NEED!
The need to KNOW our God and Savior, our Creator and lover of our souls!
GOD LOVES US!
Because He loves us, He tells us the truth!
He tells us in His Word to us (The Bible) that EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US have sinned.
I have sinned, you have sinned, our parents have sinned and on and on it goes!
We have all missed the bulls eye! None of us are perfect; No not one.
Each and every one of us have the same exact CATACLYSMIC DILEMMA!
God tells us in the Bible (Romans 6:23) that the payment for <sin> is DEATH.
(That means eternal separation from God…God calls it the second death; in hell)
The consequence of sin is death.
We can’t just “pay off” God by “doing better.”
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne.” (Psalm 89:14)
Since we know that God is a righteous Judge, He MUST, by His very nature, judge sin.

Maybe you are ready right now to ask God to forgive you of your sins too!
If you are ready to trust Jesus as your Savior, then TODAY is your day of salvation! Kneel down before the Lover of your soul, the One who created you, Almighty God, admit your sins to Him, ask Him to forgive you of your sins and then thank Him for giving you that forgiveness through Jesus Christ your Savior!
If hearing about your sin gives you an “uncomfortable feeling” inside…
You need to know that that is a REALLY GOOD THING!!
That is God’s Holy Spirit bringing “conviction” to your soul.
NOT condemnation, but conviction.
Jesus said,
“I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (The Holy Spirit) will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin.” (John 16:7,8)
Just as a judge gives a conviction of “guilty” as charged, the same is true at the spiritual level with our Heavenly Judge.
Do not resist the feeling of conviction!
IT IS TRULY A LIFE SAVING GIFT!
Just like it is a good thing to get a horrible feeling when danger is near (like seeing a bear running up to your tent in the forest.)
That horrible feeling is there to launch us into taking action!
Allow the conviction of the Holy Spirit to cause you to be launched into taking action.
Completely surrender to God and confess (admit) your sins to Him.
I remember when I first started reading God’s Word (the Bible.)
My spiritual eyes were opened to His plan for all of us.
When we read the prophesies in the Old Testament of the Bible, we see that mankind needed a way to have their sins forgiven forever.
That WAY was prophesied and then provided to us in the New Testament of the Bible.
The WAY is Jesus Himself.
The reason that Jesus is called the SAVIOR of the world is because He SAVES US from eternal separation from God.
Jesus was crucified as PAYMENT for OUR sins!!!
“Jesus was handed over to die because of our sins and was raised to life to make us right with God.” (Romans 4:25)
We owe a debt that we cannot pay.
Jesus paid our debt!
He died in my place and in YOUR place!
This is God’s plan to unite us with Him forever!
“The payment of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Our part is to ACCEPT His free gift of payment for our sins.

This message is called “The Gospel” which means GOOD NEWS!!
I am reminded of the verse in the bible that says: “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit.’ but you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” (James 4: 13,14)
When we think about this life as a vapor of smoke, compared to all eternity, it will cause us to get serious about the topic of eternity, OUR ETERNITY!
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Today is the day for YOU to ask for forgiveness and turn away from the things of this world; all of which will ultimately leave you disappointed and empty!
(…love for money…love for things…love for relationships…love for status…love for your reputation…love for your position/title…love for having the “perfect” body…love for pleasure, etc…etc…)
Place your love in the ONLY ONE who will never disappoint you or leave you empty!
The One who formed you in your mother’s womb.
God Almighty!
